#2020apd  #AcademicDerm

The Dermatology Teachers Exchange Group is devoted to advancing the science and art of learning and teaching through the exchange of ideas with ripple effects. It encourages participation of teachers of Dermatology, particularly those who are "dug in the trenches".

The 2020 DTEG Abstract Session will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2020, 3:30 - 5:30 pm during the 2020 APD Annual Meeting.

As COVID-19 has greatly impacted dermatology resident education, and likely the physical presence of students in dermatology, most of us are being challenged to be creative in our uses of technology to stay connected with our learners, to deliver clinical education in new virtual ways, to use asynchronous or synchronous teledermatology as a new teaching tool, and to deliver interactive didactic education.  In this time of challenge to each of our derm education status quo, think about these new and creative solutions you have and are in the process of putting into place.  Later this summer, we will place a call for Dermatology Teachers Exchange (DTEG) abstracts for the APD Annual Meeting.  The special theme of those abstracts will be “Learning from the Chaos: Innovations in Clinical and Didactic Dermatology Education from the COVID-19 Crisis”
Stay safe, and I hope to see many of you in the Fall.
